RO-90 – Waste Water Ratio Test

RO-90 – Evaluation of Wastewater Disposal Efficiency

Goal: The RO system necessitates the disposal of 4 to 5 gallons of wastewater to yield one gallon of pure water, establishing a "Waste Ratio" of between 4:1 and 5:1. If the wastewater volume is below this ratio, the Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) level will surpass the target concentration. Consult Figure 1 for a standard benchmark. To determine the waste ratio, execute the subsequent steps: Close the storage tank valve. Remove the BLACK drainage tube from its holder and channel it into a container for wastewater collection. Disconnect the clear tube from Point C3 on the ASO unit, enabling a slight flow of pure water. Fill an 8oz cup with the water from this tube, indicative of the membrane-purified water. Determine the volume of wastewater in the container. Is it roughly 4 to 5 cups? Record the amount of wastewater in the container and report the "Waste Ratio" correspondingly.
